2 Decades...damn that sucks

As of 12 am this morning I have officially been alive for 2 decades and it feels grosser and more depressing than anything I have ever experienced.  I no longer have the excuse of being a teenager and now all of a sudden, after never acting or regarding myself any older than ~15, have to become responsible and adult-like.  This is a feeling I’m not and don’t really want to get used to, but society demands it so I hopefully will grow up.

Well if anything good came from this horrible event is that my awesome friends bought me epic and more EPIC as gifts.

I’ll need my day to get over feeling old and the idea that I’ll have to experience this 20 year time frame 3 more times @_@, but I will play with my new figures plus the ones I got from Mechacon, take some pictures, feel 15 again and move on.

ZSZS, Gunbuster and Mechacon July 22, 2009

Finally got around to watching the second episode of Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei today and am glad to see that its continuing with being funny and not disjointed like Zoku.  There was a lot of parody/reference in this episode for some reason, maybe the same as usual, but I just got it this go around.  I also started watching Gunbuster after having finally finished Diebuster like a week or so ago and loving it, I wanted to see the original.  Its pretty good, but I’m only two episodes in so far.  I have to say that watching something made in the 1980s and comparing it to stuff now, it holds up very well, I especially love the typical 80s music.  This weekend is Mechacon, so yay, I always have fun there, its not the best, but something about it being in my hometown and what not, its special.  I’m hoping to get a lot of good pictures, this being my first con with my new camera and all.  A lot of friends are going to be there so I know that it’ll be a blast if anything just to hang out with everyone, probably go to the Bulldog one night, but I’m really looking forward to it, I’ll try and post a couple pictures everyday (cosplay, random stuff, us drunk, whatever).

I recently got a “job” (doesn’t pay) taking photos for Red Stick Live of local shows and happenings around Baton Rouge. I really don’t care about the pay since I’m doing it for the experience, but its been really fun just on my first two assignments, Dirty Projectors & The Givers at Chealsea’s and Bablecon Sci-fi convention.

Needless to say, I’m extremely excited that I’m getting to do this, its more or less a dream come true. So I plan on continuing with this gig a long as possible.

Today’s big update over at Nagi-sama Fanclub , DVDs now!!!! How awesome is that, the first one, episodes 1-7, go on sale tomorrow and I’ll be picking them up asap.

It is a good day.

Update: Got my membership card, No. 1356, originally had like 1010, but had to print immediately and I didn’t have a printer at the time. Its still a really fun thing to have.

Cool New Pepsi Bottle July 16, 2009

Went to Wal-Mart today and while I was checking out I saw that Pepsi had put out these newly designed bottles.  I guess its going along with the new logo and all, but I can’t imagine it being more than a summer thing considering that its 16oz and costs $1.50, so I grabbed one while they are still in existence.  I do think that they are really cool and hip, i.e. LOL duh, so I might go get a few of the other colors and designs in the future.  Plus its a pry off top which is fun.

While at work today I got a text from Spencer asking if I used to play Little League baseball with a guy named Rene Pellessier, random question. I can’t really remember that far back so I just said I didn’t know. So like 5 min later a get another text saying that he just saw his Facebook status saying that he saw a kid he used to play little league baseball with in the LSU library who know has bleach blonde and orange hair. Given the chance that there is someone else that has blonde and orange hair, naturally I just assumed it was me and found the guys Facebook page.

The real funny part to me is not that he remembered me, or took the time to make my hair color a Facebook status, but that about half way down he talks about the big guy from his diff eq class that lives in his apartment complex talking to me and it being weird.  Its funny that the big guy is Chris, my roommate, and that we live in the same apartment complex and he has a class with Chris, small world.

Bored today so I decided to clean up around Varn Villa a bit to get ready for the big move.  So many good memories here: Aftershock, Edward 40 Hands, Alcholocaust, ect.  As glad as I am to be moving, I leave behind 2 fun years of my life.
